Human security and new challenges for democracy, civil society and development

Prof. Mary Kaldor, co-director of the London School of Economics Global Governance program, was the featured keynote speaker at the conference on ”Human Security and Global Transformation: New Challenges for Democracy, Civil Society, and Sustainable Development,” held at Corvinus University of Budapest this past Monday.

Prof. Kaldor was also awarded an honorary doctorate by Corvinus University of Budapest given her extensive work on the issues of globalisation, international relations and humanitarian intervention, global civil society and global governance, and her theory of new wars.
